Yasunobu Kano studied under his brother Tanyu and became a skilled black-and-white painter. Is remembered as the painter of the sliding doors of Shishiiden (main hall of the Imperial Palace). As he lived at Nakabashi, he came to be called "Nakabashi Kano."
