Hara Yasusaburo was born in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan. He called himself Yasuichi before he assumed, his father's name, Yasusaburo. He was much influenced by Jotaro Yamamoto, a leading businessman of the Meiji Taisho and Showa eras.

Hara Yasusaburo was a president of the Nihon Kayaku (explosives), Kyowa Leather and Chugai Pencil Companies. Has been connected with about 50 business firms including the Yamakawa Pharmaceutical, Yokohama Kyoritsu Warehouse and Enoshima Electric Railway Companies.
