Tashiro Yasusada was a Japanese botanist and pioneer in the study of East Asian tropical vegetation. His botanical researches of Yaeyama Islands were noted.
Tashiro Yasusada was born in 1856 in Kagoshima, Japan.
In 1884 Tashiro was ordered by Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce to attend the exhibition at St. Petersburg, Russian Federation. There he studied botany and on his way home he studied horticulture in Belgium, Germany, France, etc.
Tashiro was employed by the Government-General of Formosa and contributed much to its industry. In late life he taught at an agricultural school in his native prefecture.
