Career
He began his career as a director of Kobe law courts. Was then sent to Europe for further studies in 1886 and upon return saw the office as chief procurator of Court of Appeals in 1891; minister of Agriculture and Commerce in 1906; created Baron in 1917; privy councilor and president of Nihon University in 1920. Excelled in poetry.
