Gagnon received a Master of Fine Arts at Concordia University in Montreal and also studied at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD University) in Toronto.

She is known for her signature style of carved plywood bas reliefs. She creates large scale public art projects and exhibits nationally and internationally. Her major public artworks include commissions from the Bishop"s University, Théâtre Louisiana Licorne (Montreal), College Jean-de-Brebeuf and the University of Montreal, among others
She has received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
