Specialist in theory and practical aspects of military medical and civil health service. Developed technique of military medical aid in injuries from atomic and thermonuclear weapons. Editor, 6-volume “Entsiklopedichesky slovar voennoy meditsiny” (Encyclopedia of Military Medicine) (1946-1950).
Editor, 35-volume “Opyt sovetskoy meditsiny v velikoy otechestvennoy voyne 1941-1945” (Soviet Medical Experience During the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War). Member, Editorial Board, and Editor, “Military Medicine” section, “Bolshaya meditsinskaya entsiklopediya” (Large Medical Encyclopedia), 2nd edition. Honorary member, Royal Medicine and Surgical Society of Canada since 1943 and of England since 1945.
Since 1945 corresponding member, USSR Academy of Medical Science. Chairman, Competition Commission for Awarding Nominal Prizes for the Best works on Military Medicine, USSR Academy of Medical Science. 1957-1959 Presidium member, same Academy.
Doctor in Red Army; 1938-1946 Chief, Soviet Army Medicine Corps. 1947-1953 USSR Ministry of Health. 1953 relieved of this post, accused with group of Soviet physicians of espionage and deliberate wrong medical teatment of prominent Party officials.
