BRUSILOVSKY, Yefrem was born in 1854.

Founder-director Clinical Department, All-Ukraine Balneological Institute, Odessa. Pioneer of natural balneotherapy. Made major contributions to the theory of balneotherapy and to the study of general and specific reactivity.
Established an arthrological clinic where he developed efficacious methods of mud treatment for diseases of the support and motor apparatus, including the use of mud in combination with specific and non-specific therapy. Taught balneology and balneotherapy and took an interest in popularizing these subjects. Helped to organize numerous Russian and several international balneological exhibitions.
1919 organized first Russian balneological exhibition in Odessa, which became a permanent museum in 1920. From 1883 bd member, from 1914 life chairman, Odessa Balneological Social. Honorary member, All-Union Committee for the Study of Rheumatism and Moscow Sciences Health Resort Social.
Wrote over 70 works on clinical aspects of rheumatic diseases. The theory and practice of balneotherapy and general medical problems.
