She studied at "Herzliya" Gymnasium in Tel-Aviv. She graduated from Vienna and Berlin Universities, she studied individual psychology with Alfred Adler.
She published about 40 books for children. Her books for children are foundational in the sippurei havurah (band-of-friends) genre and were among the earliest based on the ordinary lives of children. In addition to her original works, she translated other works into Hebrew.
She was married to Yosef Avidar.
