BOBROV, Yevgeniy was born in 1902 in Tver, now Kalinin.
1925 graduated Leningrad University.
1921-1922 member in expedition organized by Main Botanical Gardens, now the Institute of Botany, USSR Academy of Science. 1923-1926 herbarium Assistant, Institute of Botany, USSR Academy of Science. 1926-1929 external postgrad, student, Research Institute of Economics Geography, Geography Faculty, Leningrad University.
1927-1928 senior Assistant, Chair of Phytogeog., Geography Faculty, Leningrad University. Since 1931 Secretary,Department of Systematics, Institute of Botany, USSR Academy of Science. 1931-1932 Editor Secretary, journal “Flora USSR” (The Flora of the USSR).
1937-1938 Director, Institute of Botany, USSR Academy of Science, and Executive Editor, journal “Sovetskaya botanika” (Soviet Botany). Participated in exploration of upper and lower Volga territories, Bash, and Turkmenistan. 1937 directed group of Leningrad University botany students in Crimea.
Main works deal with vegetation of the Urals, Bash, and Central Asia (Kopet Dagh). Member, Editor Board, journal “Flora USSR”.
