1930 graduate Moscow’s Plekhanov Institute of National Economy.
Career
Eng-economics in Ural mining industry. From 1937 dipl work; 1940-1941 USSR consul, then consul-general in Königsberg. 1941-1942 in Soviet Army.
1943-1945 USSR consul-general in New York. 1945-1948 political adviser (with the rank of envoy), USSR High Commissioner with Allied Commission in Austria. 1948-1949 head, Department of Balkan Countries, USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
1949-1954 USSR ambassador to Hungary. 1954 head, Protocol Department, Min of Foreign Affairs. 1955-1958 USSR ambassador to Egypt.
From August 1956 simultaneously envoy to Yemen. 1958-1959 USSR ambassador to United Arab Republic and envoy to Yemen. 1959-1962 head, Middle Eastern Department USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
1962-1963 Deputy United Nations Secr-Gcn. Held rank of ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary.
