Yevgeniy KREPS, USSR Physiologist. Corresponding member, USSR Academy of Science, since 1946; Director, Institute of Evolutionary Physiology, USSR Academy of Science, since 1960.


KREPS, Yevgeniy was born in 1899.


1923 graduated Military Medicine Academy.


1925-1931 instructor, Military Medicine Academy. 1923-1933 simultaneously Head, Physiological Laboratory, Murmansk Biological Station. 1931-1951 member, Emergency-Rescue Commission, USSR Navy.

1934-1937 Professor, Leningrad University. 1935-1960 associate, Institute of Physiology, USSR Academy of Science. Member, Editor Staff, "Uspekhi sovremennoy biologii" (Progress in Modern Biology).

Works deal with comparative physiology and biochemistry of nervous system and respiratory function of blood. Works on occupational physiology of divers and on marine chemistry.


Since religion offers a complete set of answers to the problems of purpose, morality, origins, or science, it discourages exploration of those areas by suppressing curiosity, denies its followers a broader perspective, and prevents social, moral and scientific progress.


Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
