1955 recordholder of Zhitomir. At 1956 Moscow Spartakiada established world press record of 114 kilograms. At 1956 Melbourne Olympics placed 1st in overall three-list pointage.
1957 placed 1st at Teheran World and European Weightlifting Championship. 1958 established world and USSR press record of 119.5 kilograms. 1958 and 1959 placed 1st at Moscow International Weightlifting Competions for “Moscow Prize”.
At 1960 Milan European Championship placed 1st with total of 360.0 kilograms for the three lifts. At 1960 Rome Olympics placed 1st with total of 372.5 kilograms for the three lifts.
