1879 arrested in Saint St. Petersburg and for her connections with the Narodnaya volya (People's Will) group exiled to Minsk. In 1890’s worked in Social-Democratic circles. Joined Bund; during the ’’legal Marxism” period on her own initiative translated (together with L. M. Collge Pharmacy Zaks) the Volume(s) 1 of Marx’s "Kapital,” which was to be published illegally.
Eventually it was published legally by O. North. Popova under the editorship of Philisophy B. Struve. July 1898 arrested; 1900 exiled to eastern Siberia. Fled abroad; 1906 returned to Russia and continued to work for Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party (Mensheviks) until 1917 February Revol.
