He lived in Romny where he became apprenticed to bandurist M. P. Oleksienko.
He died in 1972 in the village of Kholmivka in Crimea. Adamtsevych became blind in his childhood. He began to perform solo from 1927.
In 1939 he participated in the conference of kobzars which took place in Kiev, and in 1940 a conference on folk singers which took place in Moscow.
