Achievements include development of a novel simultaneous technology mapping and cell placement algorithm for efficient optimization in computer aided design of Very-large-scale integration circuits. Development of the first GPU-based parallel computing scheme for high performance Very-large-scale integration physical synthesis in computer aided design, which significantly speeds up circuit optimization process by more than 50 times. Development of breakthrough combinatorial optimization algorithm for generic library-based circuit optimization in computer-aided design, which overcomes the decade-long hard problem of discrete optimization on DAGs with significant improvement in solution quality.
Development of the first industrial statistical optimization tool for custom circuit used in real production practice. The design of a brand new driving mechanism for micro soft body robots (wormbots) and the development of a proof-of-concept.
