Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, South Dakota School Mines and Technology, 1985. Master in Engineering in Engineering Mechanics, Pennsylvania State University, 1988. Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering, Pennsylvania State University, 1989.

Career

Head department mechanical and marine engineering National Taiwan Ocean University, Keelung, 1995—1997, professor, since 1997. Conference technical program coordinator Chinese Society Sound and Vibration, Keelung, since 2003. Second lieutenant Chinese Army, 1980-1982, Tauyan.

Achievements

  • Achievements include development of a new procedure, which corrects the long-standing misused approach, for active vibration control of general dynamic systems with complex modes. Development of general analysis packages for design of ship shafting systems concerning lateral vibration, torsional vibration, and alignment. Development of an analysis approach for fault detection of complex machinery using time-frequency analysis and neural networks.
