Career
Shinrotei lived during the Edo Period and was a writer of popular stories based on real life. Also studied painting under Kiyonaga Torii.
In late life he is said to have fallen on bad times and had to exist by teaching calligraphy. He is said to have drowned to death while under alcoholic influence.
