Yohei Suzuki was born in 1910 in Shizuoka, Japan.
He graduated from Economics Department of Kyoto University in 1935.
In 1935 he entered Yamashita Steamship Company. He then transferred to Suzuyo Shoten Company in 1937. He was appointed president of Suzuyo Shoten Company, Suzuyo Warehouse Company and Shimizu Shokuhin Kaisha (Shimizu Foodstuff Company) and director of Shizuoka Railway Company (1940).
He held additional posts of secretary of Keizai Doyiikai (Economic Friends' Society), director of Nihon Soko Kyokai (Japan Warehouse Association), counselor of Shimizu Chamber of Commerce & Industry and official of several other industrial organizations in Shizuoka Prefecture.
