Yojiro Konno left to join the Communist Party in 1929. He attended the 5th International Communist Session in Soviet Russia in 1931 as chief Japanese delegate. Later was imprisoned for 12 years for political activity. Yojiro Konnowas released after the end of World War II, and while trying to reorganize the party was purged.
