After graduating from Swarthmore University in America , returned to Japan while war was on and served in Kokusai Bunka Shinkokai (International Association for Promotion of Culture) and then in the Pacific Problems Investigation Association.
After the Japanese surrender founded the Women's Democratic Club, and became chief editor of its house organ and contributed much to women’s social movements.
