Yonewaka Suzuki was born in 1899 in Niigata, Japan.
He became a disciple of Yonezo Suzuki in 1919.
He became leading reciter of naniwabushi when his Sudo Jowa (Romance on the Isle of Sado), recorded by Victor, proved a smash hit (1931). His repertoire includes Shin Sado Jowa (The New Romance on the Isle of Sado) and Oshima Jowa (The Romance on the Isle of Oshima) which contain songs. He performed in Hawaii and Pacific Coastal Area of the United States.
