Yorihiro Matsudaira was appointed lieutenant-general of the Left Guard with title of Lord of Sanuki. He did much for the welfare of the people, encouraged the sugar industry and education. He compiled Rekicho-Yohi (a chronicle of dynasties), which he presented to Emperor Ninko.
