Yorinari Kiyohara

Background

Yorinari Kiyohara was born in 1122. He was the son of Suketaka.

Career

Yorinari Kiyohara was an adviser to Kanezane Fujiwara, most powerful court noble at that time. He made Confucianism flourish.

Achievements

• Yorinari Kiyohara awarded certificate as an excellent Confucian scholar by the Imperial Court in recognition of his services as lecturer to Emperor Takakura (1179).
  
  Deified at Kurumasaki Shrine in Kyoto.
