Yoritoyo Inoue studied at the Tokyo Academy of Music but left without graduating.
From 1934 to 1943, was cellist for the Japan Symphony Orchestra (presently the NHK Symphony Orchestra). Was cellist for the Tokyo Philharmony Symphony Orchestra (1949-1951). Author of "Russian Folk Songs", "Thirty Years of Soviet Music" and "The Musical Life in Siberia".
