Yoshihiko Yoshimatsu was born on November 16 in 1922 in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.
Yoshihiko Yoshimatsu graduated from Butoku Semmon (Judo) School. Since studying in Kagoshima Commercial School, was known as a good judoist. In 1937 and 1938, the judo team of this school headed by him won the championship of the National Middle School Judo Meet.
When Yoshihiko Yoshimatsu graduated from Butoku Semmon School, competed at the Judo Meet of East Japan vs. West Japan as co-captain of the Western Team and defeated three top opponents. Dispatched to South America on a Judo mission (1953). In 1953 and 1954 won the championship of All-Japan Judo Meet. He worked at the Kagoshima Prefectural Headquarters of the National Police.
