Yoshikazu Nambu

Background

Yoshikazu Nambu was born in 1840, Tosa Province, (Kochi Prefecture).

Career

In 1869 and in 1871 he recommended to the government abolition of all Chinese ideographs and Romanization of Japanese writing, considering the traditional Japanese writing too complicated and inconvenient.
