One of the 36 Kasen (saints of waka) in the reign of Emperor Ichijo. Yoshikoto was appointed the governor of Tajima (Hyogo Prefecture) in 1009. His poems are found in a number of anthologies including Jui, Gojui, Shika, Shin-Kokin, and Gyokuyo.
