Yoshinari Tanaka

Background

Yoshinari Tanaka was born in 1860 in Tokyo.

Career

Reading proofs everyday, he soon became interested in history. His enthusiasm was soon noted and he was promoted to be a compiler, till he was placed charge of compiling the nation's history.

Concurrently he was also appointed a professor of history at Tokyo University. His lectures delivered at the university were later compiled and published after his death.
