Yoshiro Obayashi entered Obayashi-Gumi Civil Engineering & Construction Company. He became president of Obayashi-Gumi and president of Naigai Lumber Industry Company (since 1943). Toured US to inspect civil engineering (1950). Holds additional posts of director of Osaka Motors Company and Osaka Kensetsu Kaikan (Construction Hall), vice-chairman of Japan Architecture Association, director of National Building Industry and Osaka Building Industry Association and member of Osaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
