A third generation of the orthodox Seki school of mathematics.
Under the order of his predecessor, he rearranged the teachings of Takakazu Seki, the founder of the Seki school, into proper order and laid the foundation thereby for the study of Seki school of mathematics.
He was one of the three masters of the Seki school, the other two being Naonobu Ajima and Yasushi Wada.
Later he was the instructor of mathematics to Masaki Naito, the Lord of Nobeoka Clan in Miyazaki Prefecture.
He is said to have been a mathematical genius. With regard to the mathematical symbol, he obtained results (down to 49 decimal points) that had never been achieved by a Japanese mathematician.
