Succeeded to his family's printing business (1925). Yoshitaro Kawaguchi merged several printing concerns and organized the Teikoku (imperial) Printing Co. (1944), changing its name to Gakko Tosho Printing Co. and became its president (1947). After the war, specialized in printing textbooks.
