Career
Composed 2 Russian operas, 'The Gypsy' (1853) and 'Swetlana' (1854). Was an editor of a paper in Leipzig since 1863 to1868. Since 1870, professor of singing at Moscow Conservatory. Wrote ''Die alten Kirchenmodi historisch und akustisch entwickelt" (1878).
