Education
A priest of the Soto Sect, Takita first studied at the Zenkyiiin Temple in Matsumoto and after donning sacred robes traveled through the country.
Career
He went to China in 1877 to consolidate relations between the Japanese and Chinese through Buddhism. Upon his return he became head priest of the Tenchoji Tempie and later of the Ryiitaiji Temple in Gifu Prefecture.
