Career
Yugiri worked in an entertainment house owned by Shirobe Ogiya in Shimmachi, Osaka, and soon became as popular a courtesan as Takao in Edo. Her love affair with Izaemon Fujiya has formed the theme for many kabuki plays, the most popular being Yugiri Izaemon.
