Background

Hiratsuka, Yuji was born on September 7, 1954 in Osaka, Japan. Came to the United States, 1985. Son of Toshio and Kameyo (Tsumura) Hiratsuka.

Education

Bachelor of Science, Tokyo Gakngei University, 1978. Master of Arts, New Mexico State University, 1987. Master of Fine Arts, Indiana University, 1990.

Career

Visiting assistant professor Colorado College, Colorado Springs, 1990-1992. Professor art Oregon State University, Corvallis, since 1992. Visiting instructor Pacific Northwest College of Art, Portland, Oregon, since 1994.

Instructor summer workshops Sitka Center Art & Ecology, Otis, Oregon, since 1997. Printmaker, lecturer.
