Stalin Prize, 1952. Member, Communist Party, since 1951.

Background

SMUUL, Yukhan was born in 1922 in village Kuivaste, Muhu Island.

Career

During World War II in Soviet Army. 1944-1946 Assistant Editor, newspaper “Sirp ja Vazar”, and Editor, journal “Pioner”. 1943 first work published.

1951-1953 Deputy Chairman, Estonia Union of Writers. 1954-1959 board and Secretariat member, USSR Union of Writers. Deputy, Estonia Supreme Soviet of 1955 and 1959 convocation.

Since 1958 Deputy, and member, Credentials Commission, Soviet of Nationalities, USSR Supreme Soviet.
