In the Nikishin family there were four children. Yuri was sent to study at a boarding school, where he studied for 8 years. Continuation of education was not possible, because he had to help the relatives, so in 1963 Yuri Nikishin began to work.
In 1967 Yuri graduated from the evening school. In 1968 he enters a sports school in the ski department and graduates with honors. In 1975 Yuri Aleksandrovich was sent to study at the Higher School of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions, from which he graduated in 1980. In 1987-1988 Y.A. Nikishin was trained in the Center for Managers of the Plekhanov Academy, worked on probation in Germany and Finland. In 1989 he studied at the Academy of National Economy of the USSR.
Firstly Yuri Aleksandrovich worked at the Tula motor depot No. 1 of Glavpriorstroy (1963-1965), then as a fitter at the OKBSP of Prioksky state farm (1965-1966) and electrician at Novotulsk metallurgical plant (1966-1967). Next he worked as an electrician at the Tula factory of concrete products (1968-1970). After graduation from the sports school he was a physical education instructor in Tulplodovoschtorg (1970-1971). In 1972 Y.A. Nikishin moved to the publishing house “Kommunar” of the Tula Regional Committee of the CPSU, where he held positions from a physical education instructor and a master to a foreman. Parallel to that, he was actively engaged in public work in the trade committee of the publishing house. From 1981 to 1986 Y. A. Nikishin worked as a director of the Tula repair and industrial plant, and in 1986-1987 – as the deputy manager of Uprkinosnabsbyt. Since 1987 he heads the Moscow Printing House No. 5.
Yuri Aleksandrovich is married and has a daughter.
