Career
In 1906 he came to Tokyo and took a position as primary school teacher, but left the position to edit the magazine "Engeki Gaho (Drama Illustrated) (1900), serving as its editor for fifty years. He has written several books on the stage, including "Kabuki-no-Kata" (The Form of Kabuki).
