Background
Medical scientist. Doctor of Medicine. Born in Okayama Prefecture. After graduating from Tokyo University (1905) continued studies at laboratory of that university. Went to Germany for study (1907) and after returning home received degree (1913). Founded Teikoku (Imperial) Women's College (1925) and presently serves as president and chairman of board of trustees of Toho University.
