Background
Physician. Physical education expert Doctor of Medicine. Born in Hiroshima Prefecture. Graduated from Medical Department of Tokyo University (1923). Graduated from Public Health Department of Harvard University (1932). Served at Medical Department of Tokyo University and then became director of School Sanitation Department of Tokyo Chilo Hokenjo (Tokyo Central Health Center) (1935). Appointed physical education officer of Welfare Ministry (1938). Served successively as vice-director of National Living Guidance Department of Imperial Rule Association and director of Welfare Department of Sangyo Hokokukai (Nationaf Service Industrial Association). Went to Amsterdam (1928) and Los Angeles (1932) as official of Japanese Olympic teams. Purged after the war. After being depurged (1951) was appointed director of Tsudayama Shinryojo (Tsudayama Clinic) and chief director of Japan Football Association. Books include Gakko Kenko Kamri (Management of Health Service in Schools) and Sangyo Taiilcu (Physical Education in Industry).
