Yves Daccord

Daccord earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Geneva. He was a television journalist at the Télévision Suisse Romande in Geneva and producer. He joined the ICRC in 1992.
In 1997, he became deputy head of the Division for the Promotion of International Humanitarian Law.
In 1998 he became head of the Communication Division, in 2002 director of Communication. He was named director-general effective July 1, 2010.
