In 1948, Laloy started to work as an architect in Rennes, a post he held until 1952, when he devoted himself to painting.
In 1955, Yves traveled around the Mediterranean Sea. Three years later, he held his first solo exhibition at the gallery La Cour d'Ingres in Paris.
