Baha received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Kabul University in 1962. Four years later he earned his Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. In 1973, Zarjon was given a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University.
Baha began his career as an assistant professor of сivil engineering at Kabul University in 1966. Seven years later he took a position of an associate professor and head of сivil engineering and agricultural engineering department at that university. Then in 1975, Zarjon became a dean of School of Engineering at Kabul University, where he worked until 1978. Also he served as a senior design consultant for the Center for Engineering Consulting Services and Applied Research at Kabul University in 1973-1982.
In 1982, Baha was a research specialist at the University of Virginia. Since 1982 Baha has been a professor of construction management at Purdue University. In 1986, he became a professional engineer and private consultant working for the states of Illinois, Indiana and Michigan and held the position until 2000. In addition, Zarjon served as a resident program coordinator of Malaysia Polytechnics Development Project from 1995 to 1999.
Baha is a member of the American Association of University Professors, American Society for Civil Engineering Education, Sigma Lambda Chi and American Concrete Institute.
On November 25, 1956 Zarjon Baha married Fatima Mohammed. They have three children.
