Zen Ran (Jishin-bo (pen name)) was a Buddhist priest. His father sent him on a preaching mission to the eastern district, where Zen Rane found many disciples. But as his preaching were rather heretical and disturbing in their meaning, and because he would not heed the advice of Shinran, bis father finally disowned him.

Zen Ran was born in 1210 in Japan. He was the second son of Shinran.
