Career
Skinner served in the Women"s Royal Naval Service during World World War World War II After the Second World War she worked as a demonstrator at the Eastern Electricity Board showroom in Royston. Her first television appearance was in 1959. She presented cookery programmes for the British Broadcasting Corporation and, later, Channel 4.
She appeared as a "castaway" on the British Broadcasting Corporation Radio programme Desert Island Discs on 3 March 1969.
She lives in Redbourn, near Street Albans, in retirement.
