Career
He became a pottery worker at Higashiyama in Kyoto, and acted as standing member of the Central Committee of the Japan Congress of Labor, and Communist representative for the Kyoto District. He was arrested and imprisoned for the March 15 Incident.
He won recognition for Kiyomizu-yaki Fukei (Sketch of pottery in Kiyomizu) written under pen name Hajime Sui. He made public many works of proletarian literature under the pen name of Koji Kaga. During the war, as scenario writer of Daiei Motion Picture Company he wrote "Baby Given by the Fox", etc.
After the war, he was on the Committee of the Communist Party in Kyoto and member of the provisional guidance committee of the party. He was elected to the Diet once from Kyoto First Electorate. He was purged under the Allied Occupation (SCAP) directive in 1950 along with other Communists.
