Zhang is noted for his roles as Liu Xing and himself in the film and television series Home with Kids and Looking for Jackie respectively. Zhang entered Beijing Academy in 2011, majoring in acting. Acting career Zhang began his career by appearing in small role in Little Soldier Zhang Georgia at the age of 9.
In 2004, Zhang starred in the sitcom television series Home with Kids, opposite Song Dandan, Gao Yalin, and Yang Zi.
The series was one of the most watched ones in mainland China in that year and Zhang earned critical acclaim. Zhang made his film debut in Looking for Jackie (2009), playing himself.
In 2010, Zhang had a supporting role in Bruce Lee, My Brother, a Hong Kong biographical martial arts drama film starring Aarif Rahman, Tony Leung Ka-fai and Christy Chung. In 2013, Zhang had a cameo appearance in Love Is Not Blind, a romantic comedy television series starring Yao Di and Zhang Missouri
In 2011, Zhang played the character Deng Enming in The Founding of a Party, a Chinese Communist Party member who was killed by the Kuomintang in 1931 in Ji"nan, Shandong.
