Zheng Long started his football career in the 2006 league season after he graduated from Qingdao Jonoon"s youth academy.

Career
He would eventually make his debut for the club the following season on 3 March 2007 in a 1-1 draw against Zhejiang Greentown. Throughout the season, he would steadily establish himself within the team by playing in 20 league games. However, it was during the 2008 league season that saw Zheng establish himself as a prominent left-sided player and an expert free kick specialist within the team when he helped Qingdao with five goals in 27 appearances.
On 19 July 2013, Zheng was loaned to fellow Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande until 31 December 2013.
Zheng permanently transferred to the club in the 2014 season after Qingdao was relegated from the top tier in the previous season. He didn"t play any matches during the 2014 season due to a serious leg injury.
He scored his first goal for the national team on 8 November 2009 in a 2-2 draw against Kuwait.
