Background

TASHENEV, Zhumabek was born in 1915 in village Tanagul, Kazakhstan.

Education

1933 graduated agronomy school. Graduated Higher Party School, Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.

Career

1954 initiated mobilization of Aktyubinsk Oblast youth for agricultural work. Deputy, Kazakhstan Supreme Soviet of 1951, 1955 and 1959 convocation. Deputy, USSR Supreme Soviet of 1954 and 1958 convocation.

1934-1942 Secretary, Executive Committee, various rayon Soviet of workers’ dep., Kazakhstan. Head, Sovetsky and Poludinsky Rayon Agriculture Department, Northern Kazakhstan Oblast. 1942-1943 Deputy Head, Northern Kazakhstan Oblast Agriculture Department.

1943^47 Deputy Secretary, and Head,Department of Stock-Raising, Northern Kazakhstan Oblast Committee(b) Kazakhstan. 1947-1948 First Deputy Chairman, 1948-1952 Chra., Executive Committee, Northern Kazakhstan Oblast Soviet. 1955-1960 Chairman, Presidium, Kazakhstan Supreme Soviet.

1958-1960 Deputy Chairman, Presidium, USSR Supreme Soviet. 1955-1961 Bureau member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party Lithuania Kazakhstan. 1960-1961 Chairman, Kazakhstan Council of Ministers.

January 1961 relieved of duties as Chairman, Kazakhstan Council of Ministers for transfer to another post.
