1916, while working as teacher, made acquaintance of Bolshevik revolutionaries exiled to Yakutia. Participated in 1917 October Revol and in Civil War. Helped organize aid to waifs and strays.
Worked for various children's organizations. Company-sponsored movement to involve industry managers’ wives in soc work. During World War 2 worked in military hospitals.
